This is for real. Unfortunately, as the copy says, I have been approached four times in the recent past to do projects for people. They/their husband found me on Behance. Their inquiry sounds reasonable, and they have all sent details and files. Seems legit... until we talk about payment. One woman sent two different 'family' images for an anniversary party invitation - sent two separate times, the second time as if she was writing to me for the first time after several emails between us. A guy wanted to send me a bank certified check (which would mean he'd need my home address which I sure do not share with strangers), and asked my bank name and cell phone number and wanted to send part payment for a job that I would do in its entirety. Another woman asked for a 'logo' design, but what she described was illustrated phrases. She also wanted to send partial payment, in a bank certified check. She wrote 'My sponsor only make payments with digital check...' and here's the best part - she sent me a PHOTO of the back of the check, asking me to take photos of the check for a mobile deposit... also wanted my bank name. When I told her that I'd need the physical check for that, she said... [are you ready?] "Physical check and digital check is the same. Anyway my sponsor can only make payment with digital check." SERIOUSLY?! My reply: Can you eat a digital picture of a pizza? Or do you need the real thing in front of you on the table? Just for grins, I asked her to send me a photo of the front of the check... it's been several days, no photo. Some have 'sponsors', one wanted me to deal with the printer, also. Don't fall for this, people!! Be skeptical.
